College Advising

    • Page Banner

100% of Lacordaire graduates are accepted into at least one of their top three college choices
But the journey is about more than getting into an Ivy, acing the big test, or mastering the interview. It’s about discovering who you are, identifying and honing your strengths, selecting a field of study that excites and challenges you, and charting a path that reflects your values and aspirations. At Lacordaire, we walk that path with you, every step of the way.

The college counseling process begins the moment students enter the Upper School. With small class sizes and an engaged faculty, the Dean of Student Affairs works closely with each student to design a personalized high school experience that supports academic growth, leadership development, and thoughtful college planning.

Counseling takes place both one-on-one and through dedicated guidance classes. Students explore the full scope of college readiness: from academic achievement and course selection to extracurricular involvement, service, and leadership. Our goal is to ensure each student presents a compelling and authentic application—and feels confident about where they’re headed next.
Attending Lacordaire, whose maximum class size is 25 students, significantly increases a student’s chances of admission to top colleges (in particular, colleges with acceptance rates below 20%).
