  • Science & Biology Teacher

    Lacordaire Academy, a Catholic independent PreK to 12 school, is currently seeking a full-time Science instructor for the 2025-2026 school year for our Middle and Upper School, grades 5-12. Courses include 7th Grade Life Science and 9th Grade Biology.

    Qualifications: 
    • State Department of Education Certification (preferred, not required) 
    • Degree in a science related field and a strong scientific background
    • Experience and passion for working with students of varying age ranges
    • Ability to effectively teach a variety of courses, incorporate critical thinking and problem solving strategies, and differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners
    • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
    • Knowledge and application of best practices in instruction and classroom management
    • Experience in a classroom setting as a teacher preferred
    • Candidates with AP experience or willingness to teach AP preferred

    Salary range for this position is $45,000-$65,000 depending on experience, qualifications, and certifications. The Curriculum Chair position includes an additional stipend. As a full time teaching position, an employee benefits package is included with this position.
  • Full-Time Operations Staff – Custodian / Facilities Technician

    Lacordaire Academy, an independent Catholic school in the Dominican tradition, dedicated to academic excellence and the formation of the whole child, seeks a dependable and skilled full-time Custodian / Facilities Technician. This essential role supports the daily operation, safety, and appearance of our campus and contributes directly to creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment in which students can learn, grow, and thrive.

    Position Overview

    Reporting to the Director of Facilities, the Custodian / Facilities Technician is responsible for custodial services, routine maintenance, and basic repairs to school buildings and grounds. The ideal candidate is service-oriented, takes pride in their work, and understands the vital role facilities play in supporting the mission and daily life of the school community.

    Schedule & Employment Details

    • Full-time, 12-month position
    • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
    • Occasional evenings and weekends required for school events, emergencies, or seasonal needs

    Responsibilities

    • Perform daily custodial duties to maintain classrooms, offices, restrooms, common areas, and grounds in a clean, orderly, and safe condition
    • Complete basic maintenance and repair work in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and general facilities upkeep
    • Conduct routine inspections of buildings, equipment, and grounds to identify maintenance needs, safety concerns, and potential hazards
    • Respond promptly and professionally to facilities and custodial requests from faculty, staff, and administration
    • Assist with setup and breakdown of spaces for school events, meetings, and special programs
    • Maintain outdoor areas, including walkways, landscaping, and seasonal snow or debris removal
    • Give careful attention to safety, cleanliness, and stewardship of school facilities
    • Safely operate hand and power tools, machinery, and cleaning equipment in accordance with school policies and safety regulations
    • Support and promote a culture of respect, responsibility, and care for the physical environment of the school
    • Perform other related duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade training is a plus
    • Prior experience in custodial services, facilities maintenance, or a related field preferred
    • Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and painting
    • Ability to safely operate hand and power tools and maintenance equipment
    • Strong attention to detail, reliability, and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a school community
    • Commitment to the mission and values of a Catholic, Dominican educational institution

    Physical Demands & Work Environment

    • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
    • Ability to climb, bend, kneel, and perform manual labor as required
    • Regular exposure to indoor and outdoor environments, including varying weather conditions such as heat, cold, rain, and snow
    • Regular use of cleaning supplies, tools, and equipment consistent with facilities operations

  • Leave Replacement Math Teacher

    Lacordaire Academy, a Catholic independent PreK to 12 school, is currently seeking a short term leave replacement Math instructor for the 2025-2026 school year for our Middle and Upper School, grades 5-12. Courses include Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Algebra II and 5th grade Math.
    Start Date: April 13, 2026 through early June
