The Parent Experience

When your child becomes a Lacordaire student, you become as much a part of the Lacordaire community as they do.

From the moment you join us on the lawn of James Hall at our annual New Parent Cocktail Reception to long after your children don their graduation caps and gowns, you are a valued member of the Lacordaire family.

Throughout the school year, parents are offered many opportunities to socialize, connect, and enjoy being part of this close-knit private school community.

The Role of the Parent Community

The parent interview is a key part of our application process, reflecting our belief that parents play an essential role in the life of the Lacordaire community. Whether through volunteering, attending events, serving on board committees, attending classes as guest lecturers, or supporting the Lacordaire Fund, our families actively contribute to the school’s vitality.

As a member of this community, you will connect with like-minded parents in a warm, engaging, and supportive environment—one that embodies the close-knit spirit and enduring tradition of Lacordaire Academy.

    Volunteer Co-Chair

We have been blessed to call Lacordaire home since 2022. From the beginning, my husband and I gravitated towards Lacordaire because of its alignment with our Christian values and its commitment to academic excellence—both of which have deeply enriched our son Sumner’s educational journey. At Lacordaire, Sumner actively participates in forensics and basketball and he recently helped lead the debate team to victory in two competitions!

When he’s not on campus, you can usually find him on a soccer field, playing for three different leagues.

    Events Co-Chair

My daughter Joelle, now a junior at Lacordaire Academy, is a maturing young lady. I chose to become more involved as a result of our Laco experience. Like many, we chose Laco for its small family environment. She is blossoming as a result of her Laco education and support. As an Emergency medicine physician, my hours are so erratic. However, this will be time well spent.  I want to say thank you for our experience by involvement at the association level.
